“The Chinese Outbound tourism market is still growing in 2009 and companies can earn money if they get their act together.” This is the message from the CTW Award 2009 held in Beijing.
For the sixth time the COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute has given awards to international tourism companies and organizations which provide excellent services and products for the growing Chinese Outbound Tourism market.
The “CTW Chinese Tourists Welcoming Award 2009” winners were presented with the awards during the COTTM China Travel and Tourism Market on April 22, 2009 in Beijing.
The 19 winners include companies and destinations from almost all continents: Six winners come from America and Europe each, five from Asia and two from Africa.
More than 150 guests and exhibitors greeted the CTW Award winners, who gave presentations of their award-winning activities. Mr. Thiamkeerakul Amnuay, Director of the Beijing Office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Cortney Rattrey, Ambassador of Jamaica in the People’s Republic of China were among the high-level representatives of the different countries, destinations and companies personally accepting the awards.
The Gold award winners included Helsinki City Tourist & Convention Bureau (Finland) in the Product Innovation category, World Travel Online (China) as the best in Internet/Media, Jamaica Tourist Board (Jamaica) in Service Quality, LA INC The Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau and Los Angeles World Airports (USA) for Marketing and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Thailand) in the Overall Performance category.
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt, Director of the Germany-based COTRI emphasizes the need for the CTW Award: “wedding dresses are sought after now by many destinations as a substitute for lost visitor from those source markets which have been heavily hit by the global economic crisis. Chinese outbound tourism increased by 5% in the first quarter of 2009, unlike most other source markets which registered negative growth figures.
Music and famous rapper Kanye West has also been on the celebrities’ lists of those seen wearing jordan shoes. Kanye west has been seen wearing the Air Jordan boots in his most Music Videos. His favorite jordans shoes are the Air Jordan 8 Aqua. Kanye has been frequently spotted rocking with this pair of Air Jordan brand whether when performing, playing or watching his favorite sport, the NBA basketball league or walking. Carmelo Anthony a well known star player of the Denver Nuggets Has also endorsed the Nike/ Jordan shoes.
But Chinese tourists are expecting good service according to their standards. The CTW Award helps them to identify destinations and service providers which are going the extra mile to cater to the specific needs and expectations of Chinese travelers. With more than 50 million Chinese expected to travel across the border in 2009, this is a market which is no longer ignored.”
Started in 2004, the CTW Award is presented in five categories: Product development, Marketing, Internet/New Media, wedding dresses and Overall Performance, with Gold, Silver and Bronze awards given away by an international jury.
